Warner Assists Downtown Grand Rapids Mixed-Use Theatre Project Slated for 2017

Warner Norcross + Judd is representing a joint venture between Jackson Entertainment in a recently proposed mix-use theatre project, projected to generate $369 million in economic benefits within the first 10 years after completion. Phase I of the project will include:
  • Multiscreen Studio C! movie theater;
  • Market rate residential apartment units;
  • Commercial retail space;
  • 900+ space parking ramp; and
  • A newly publicly-owned, privately-managed public piazza.
Warner was involved in negotiations for the project with the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the City of Grand Rapids and was instrumental in structuring an agreement to support tax increment financing. Pending final approvals, groundbreaking is expected to begin mid to late 2017 and Warner Norcross will continue working with the development team to finalize a development agreement with the DDA and City.
