The Michigan Economic Developers Association’s Economic Summit and Annual Meeting will bring together a broad and diverse coalition of economic development partners from across the state and beyond to explore a range of timely and transformative topics aligned with MEDA’s mission to advance economic prosperity in Michigan.
This year’s summit, taking place Aug. 18–20 at the Haworth Hotel and Conference Center in Holland, Michigan, will focus on the state’s positive economic momentum, strategic innovations in the energy sector and the expanding roles of semiconductors, data centers and artificial intelligence in driving future growth.
Kurt Brauer, a partner at Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, will moderate the panel “Shine on West Michigan,” which will highlight the region’s growing appeal as businesses seek new space, housing developments rise and population increases. The discussion will explore factors influencing site selection, strategies companies are using to engage their teams and ways to overcome obstacles to advance the regional economy.
“Through the efforts of the panelists and their teams, West Michigan has consistently demonstrated tremendous leadership in business prosperity and diversity, both through organic growth of existing companies and attraction of significant opportunities from regional and national players,” Brauer said.
At Warner, Brauer counsels clients in economic development, environmental compliance and regulatory matters, with an emphasis on brownfield redevelopment and business expansion incentive packages. He also assists clients on resolving complex real estate matters. He has worked with each of the panelists on numerous projects in West Michigan, including projects in the manufacturing, automobility, agribusiness, data center and housing spaces.
