Kurt Brauer Elected President of Michigan Wetlands Association

Kurt M. Brauer, a partner with the law firm Warner LLP, has been elected president of the Michigan Wetlands Association. 

Brauer is a founding member of the statewide nonprofit dedicated to the protection and restoration of wetlands and associated ecosystems through science-based programs, education and stewardship. Brauer will serve a one-year term leading the board comprised of business professionals, scientists, educators, conservationists and environmentalists as well as citizens and representatives from local, state and federal government, representing a broad spectrum of interests.
 
At Warner, Brauer counsels clients in economic development, environmental compliance and regulatory matters with an emphasis on brownfield redevelopment and business expansion incentive packages. He also assists clients in resolving complex real estate matters.
 
Brauer is consistently recognized in Best Lawyers in America, Michigan Super Lawyers and as a DBusiness Top Lawyer. He chairs the firm's Agribusiness and Food Industry Group.
 
In addition to his role at MWA, Brauer serves as a director of the Great Lakes Ag-Tech Business Incubator, secretary for the board of the Farmington Hills Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and is a recent past chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s Environmental Law Section Council. Brauer is a member of the Michigan Economic Developers Association and the recipient of the organization's 2018 Mike Conboy award for contributions to the advancement of the economic development profession.
