Bill Jansen practices in the areas of commercial litigation, business law, commercial law, condemnation law and antitrust law. He counsels national and international companies, including automotive suppliers, concerning commercial, contractual and compliance issues. Bill is known for big wins in high stakes lawsuits, including cases with more than $1 billion in corporate assets at risk. He has successfully represented many major companies, including Robert Bosch, CMS and Consumers Energy, MAHLE, Johnson Controls, DTE and Detroit Edison, Vector Pipeline, Putsch GmbH, Lear and Pillsbury, as well as hospitals and electric utilities in several states. He has been counsel, including trial counsel, in prominent and complex condemnation proceedings on behalf of pipeline companies and commercial clients. Bill also is asked to lead many complex internal investigations on behalf of large companies, reporting directly to the board and senior management. A distinguished University of Michigan Law School graduate, with an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Bill has received numerous awards: he has been named a Leading Lawyer in Michigan, a Michigan Super Lawyer and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for the past decade.   • Successful lead trial counsel for Port Huron Hospital in multimillion-dollar arbitration proceedings against Mercy Hospital involving inpatient and outpatient heart programs

  • Special arbitrator and facilitative mediator for Washington Power & Light, Georgia Power Co., Indiana & Michigan Power Co., Northern States Power Co., Wisconsin Electric Power Company, Iowa Power & Light and Thumb Electric Cooperative in complex electrical power distribution cases

  • Successful trial counsel for Consumers Energy in six-week U.S. Tax Court case involving nine figure exposure on accrual revenue reporting issue

  • Counsel for Keiper Enterprises and Keiper Delta Seat Components in multimillion-dollar dispute with motor supplier

  • Successful trial counsel for Pillsbury Co., Green Giant Co., Dean Foods Co. and Borden Foods in antitrust litigation involving the design, manufacture and pricing of folding cartons and corrugated containers

  • Trial counsel for Standard Oil of Ohio and Reserve Oil and Minerals involving the design and implementation of a massive uranium mine in multimillion-dollar litigation against Gulf Oil Corporation
