Few attorneys have experience both writing financial regulations and advising financial institutions on how to implement them. Drawing on nearly three decades in private practice and government service, I help clients navigate regulatory change, manage risk and develop practical solutions to complex banking and consumer finance challenges.

Amy Durant is a senior counsel in Warner's Financial Institutions and Services Practice Group. She advises clients on a wide range of banking, consumer finance and payments matters.

Amy helps financial institutions navigate regulatory change, develop new products and services, manage risk, and implement practical solutions to complex business and operational challenges. She advises clients on a broad range of federal and state banking, consumer finance, and fair lending laws and regulations, as well as licensing requirements.

Amy also spent 10 years in federal government service, where she helped develop and implement significant consumer finance regulations affecting financial institutions nationwide. During that time, she worked extensively on matters involving open banking, small business lending, consumer lending, mortgage lending, credit reporting, electronic fund transfers, and fair lending.

Earlier in her career, Amy led a regulatory banking and consumer finance practice, counseling financial institutions and other businesses on regulatory compliance, product development, risk management and strategic initiatives.

Amy earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University's James Madison College.
