Warner Represents Charter Oak Capital Management in Sale to Mercer Advisors

Warner Norcross + Judd LLP represented Charter Oak Capital Management, a wealth management firm serving high-net-worth individuals and families, in its sale to Mercer Advisors.

Based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Charter Oak Capital Management manages approximately $1.5 billion in client assets and serves clients throughout New England, including New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine. Founded in 2002, the firm is known for its holistic, planning-led approach to wealth management, integrating investment management with tax and estate planning to support clients through complex financial decisions and life transitions.

Charter Oak is led by an experienced partner group that includes Emma Bean, Todd Cesca, Sarah Serling, Jeffrey Troiano, Lena Wyand and Karen Zaramba. The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering personalized, relationship-driven service and maintaining deep, long-term client relationships rooted in trust and community.

Through the transaction, Charter Oak joins Mercer Advisors, a national registered investment adviser with approximately $98 billion in client assets. The combination expands Mercer’s presence in New England while providing Charter Oak clients with access to enhanced resources, including family office services, tax preparation, advanced estate and trust planning and multigenerational wealth strategies. At the same time, Charter Oak will maintain its boutique, client-focused approach and local identity.

Warner served as legal counsel to Charter Oak Capital Management in the transaction, advising on the negotiation and documentation of the sale. The Warner team was led by Linda Paullin-Hebden and included Sarah Harper, Lauren Moine, Sean Cook, Jennifer Watkins, DeAndre’ Harris and Stephanie Grant.
