Warner Norcross + Judd LLP partner Timothy L. Horner has been recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as one of 2019’s “Leaders in the Law.”

This award recognizes attorneys who have made outstanding contributions to the practice of law in Michigan, while demonstrating superior leadership and offering a wealth of expertise in several areas of the law. Horner concentrates his practice in corporate, securities and financial services law with a focus on infrastructure, governmental and nonprofit finance, as well as public-private partnership, or P3, transactions. Horner will be recognized on April 18 at the 11th annual Leaders in the Law Luncheon.

Horner serves as the chair of the Infrastructure and Public-Private Partnership Industry Group at Warner and as the lead U.S. counsel for the Canadian government and the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority for the $5.7 CAN (estimated $4.4 billion US) Gordie Howe International Bridge project. He led more than 60 Warner attorneys from more than a dozen practice areas to shape the agreements to design, build, finance, operate and maintain this historic project that will link the United States and Canada.

The Gordie Howe International Bridge has received three international awards this year, including being named 2018 Transport Deal of the Year for the Americas by Project Finance International.

His nomination read in part: “Tim finds a personal sense of fulfillment in the success of this project, as the completion of the bridge will support economic growth and development in Michigan and throughout the cross-border region in the United States and Canada.

“In addition to his cutting-edge work on significant corporate, finance and infrastructure transactions, Tim has dedicated 20+ years to working with charitable organizations across the country. His nationally recognized work revolves around advising nonprofit organizations that offer or manage investment opportunities in the form of socially responsible investment notes, charitable investment pools and other impact investment opportunities.”

Horner is recognized in Best Lawyers in America, which named him Securities/Capital Markets Lawyer of the Year for Grand Rapids in 2013.
