Warner Partner David L.J.M. Skidmore Elected Chair of Probate and Estate Planning Section of Michigan State Bar

David L.J.M. Skidmore, a partner with the law firm Warner Norcross + Judd LLP , has been elected chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Michigan State Bar.

Skidmore will serve a one-year term leading the section, which strives to enhance and improve the practice and administration of law pertaining to probate; trust and estate planning and administration; guardianships and conservatorships, including planning alternatives; and tax planning.
 
Skidmore is the fourth Warner attorney to lead the Probate and Estate Planning Section. In prior years, John H. Martin, W. Michael Van Haren and Mark K. Harder have served as chairs.
 
Based in the firm’s Grand Rapids office, Skidmore is an experienced trial attorney whose practice focuses on probate, trust, estate, fiduciary and real property disputes and litigation. He speaks and writes regularly on a variety of probate and estate matters.
 
A Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, Skidmore is active professionally and in the community. He currently serves as vice chair of the board of Broadway Grand Rapids.
 
Skidmore has been recognized for private wealth law by Chambers High Net Worth Guide. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers®, where he was honored as Trusts and Estates Litigation Lawyer of the Year, and by Michigan Super Lawyers, which named him one of the Top 50 Consumer Attorneys in Michigan. Grand Rapids Magazine also named him a Top Lawyer in Trusts and Estates.
