Warner Partner Andrea J. Bernard Honored by Inclusion in Michigan Lawyers Weekly 2023 Hall of Fame

Warner Norcross + Judd LLP partner Andrea J. Bernard has been selected for Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2023 Hall of Fame.

Now inducting its fifth Hall of Fame class, the publication chose 29 Michigan legal leaders for their success and demonstration of strong leadership both within and outside of their chosen legal field, as well as their contributions to the community.

Bernard has served as a trusted litigation advisor for 30 years. Alongside fellow recipients, she will be honored during an awards luncheon in Detroit April 21 and will be profiled in a special section of the publication’s April 24 issue.

Bernard’s nomination read in part: “Always making her clients’ problems her own, Andrea finds it gratifying to reduce or completely remove their burdens so they can focus on running their businesses. As Warner’s general counsel, she does the same for her colleagues, who entrust her to protect the interests of the firm and provide them with best practices to protect themselves.”

Bernard concentrates her practice on litigation for manufacturers, contractors, financial institutions and others involved in employment, construction and commercial disputes. She primarily represents Michigan-based companies and organizations, vigorously advocating for them in cases across the country. 

Bernard has been awarded extensively for her litigation work, including being named to Best Lawyers in America© since 2013and recognized as its 2023 Grand Rapids Construction Litigation Lawyer of the Year and its 2020 Grand Rapids Litigation-Labor and Employment Lawyer of the Year. She has also been named as a Michigan Super Lawyers every year since 2017 and recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as a 2002 Lawyer of the Year.

Bernard is a member of the 2005 class of Inforum – A Professional Women’s Alliance and of the 2004 class of Leadership Grand Rapids.

She is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, the Federal Bar Association and the Grand Rapids Bar Association, where she previously served on the board of trustees. She has also been active for many years in various roles with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan and the Federal Bar Association’s Hillman Advocacy Program, including as a faculty member, steering committee member and 2020-2022 Program Chair.

Bernard holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota summa cum laude and a law degree cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School.
