NLRB and Union Activity Is on the Rise

In today’s issue of Warner Employment News From the Law Shanty, Steve Palazzolo addresses the National Labor Relations Board’s increase in activity in 2022, and what this means for employers. In early April, the NLRB issued their petition statistics in a press release from the Office of Public Affairs of the National Labor Relations Board. During the first six months of fiscal 2022, October 1 through March 31, union representation petitions filed at the NLRB have increased 57%. At the same time, unfair labor practice charges have increased 14%. Union activity in general is also on the rise, with unions recruiting employees to join their cause. Now, more than ever before, it is important for employers to train supervisors on how to communicate appropriately with employees about unions. Steve provides insight on these developments and what employers can do to manage and protect their workforces.
