Bob Hendricks, co-chair of Warner’s Cannabis Industry Group, is a commercial attorney with 36 years of legal experience working with businesses on entity formation, real estate, tax planning, commercial contracting and other areas. Since 2013, Bob has developed a prominent cannabis practice based on Michigan’s medical and recreational cannabis laws. He has a state-level leadership role where he has participated in the development of marijuana laws and regulations. Bob represents growers, retailers, processors, labs and secure transporters who directly participate in state legal marijuana businesses, as well as businesses which provide ancillary goods and services to the industry. He regularly advises clients about the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act, the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act, the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act, and hemp and the 2018 Farm Bill. Bob is a founding member and past chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s Cannabis Law Section, and a member of the National Cannabis Bar Association and NORML.

  • Since December of 2017, Bob and his paralegal assistants have assisted dozens of applicants with license submissions to Michigan for growers, processors, provisioning centers, transporters and testing labs in both the medical and adult use markets
  • Represents providers of various ancillary business services, such as equipment suppliers and employment services
  • Provides legal counsel to national and international companies seeking to conduct marijuana business in the Michigan marketplace
  • Counsels Canadian companies developing marijuana business in Michigan
  • Member of a 13-person drafting committee in Michigan that drafted the adult-use ballet proposal that passed on November 1, 2018
  • Serves on work groups, advisory panels and other leadership roles assisting regulators in the development and expansion of the Michigan marijuana law
  • Member of Attorney General Dana Nessel’s work group that advises on marijuana law in Michigan and at the federal level
  • Leadership role with the Marijuana Regulatory Agency (MRA) to implement the disproportionately impacted communities initiative
