Warner Represented Pere Marquette Shipping Co. and Lake Michigan Car Ferry, Inc. in Their Sale to Interlake Holding Company

Warner Norcross + Judd represented Ludington-based Pere Marquette Shipping Co. and Lake Michigan Car Ferry, Inc. in their sale to Ohio-based Interlake Holding Company on December 30, 2020. The sale included an acquisition of two working Great Lakes vessels: the Articulated Tug-Barge Undaunted-Pere Marquette 41 and a historic passenger-and-car ferry known as the S.S. Badger

Interlake Holding Company has formed new entity Interlake Maritime Services, which will manage the new businesses along with The Interlake Steamship Company and its fleet of nine freighters that operate on the Great Lakes.

The privately-owned businesses felt the deal was a good fit from the beginning and their shared culture of putting employees and customers first was crucial in solidifying the deal.

Undaunted-Pere Marquette 41 carries a range of cargo such as large stone for breakwalls, pig iron and scrap. The historic S.S. Badger is a car ferry that crosses Lake Michigan between Ludington and Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

The Warner transaction team was led by Loren Andrulis and Michael Jones, and included Dennis Donohue, David Eberhard, Scott Keller, Anthony Kolenic Jr., Stephen Kretschman, Norbert Kugele, Lexi Woods and Roxanna Olsen.
