Warner Norcross + Judd LLP has welcomed Alexia A. Jansen as an associate in its Grand Rapids office.
Jansen concentrates her practice on civil litigation, government investigations and white-collar criminal defense. With experience in both private practice and as a federal prosecutor, she handles all aspects of litigation, including depositions, witness interviews, trial preparation, discovery requests, eDiscovery review and settlement discussions.
Prior to joining Warner, Jansen served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Michigan. She investigated and prosecuted cases related to controlled substance possession and distribution, violent crimes, interstate transportation of stolen goods and and fraud, among other matters.
Jansen previously served as an associate at Sidley Austin LLP in Washington, D.C., working on civil litigation, white-collar investigations and eDiscovery matters. The law firm sponsored her as a pro bono fellow working for Michigan Indian Legal Services on a wide range of issues.
She also has experience as a paralegal working on fraud investigations and prosecutions for the U.S. Department of Justice. In this role, she worked on cases involving financial institutions, health care, securities, procurement and other areas.
Jansen holds a bachelor’s degree cum laude in political science and communications, legal institutions, economics and government from American University in Washington, D.C. and a law degree magna cum laude from the University of Michigan. She served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Randolph Moss in the District Court for the District of Columbia.
A native of Byron Center, Jansen resides in Grand Rapids with her dog, Koda.
