Warner Partners Named IP Stars by Managing Intellectual Property Magazine

Four partners with the law firm Warner Norcross & Judd LLP have been named 2016 IP Stars by Managing Intellectual Property magazine.

Those who are recognized are selected through nominations from outside their law firms, feedback from clients and peers and independent research by the publication, which has done such rankings since 1996. According to the magazine, those honored are held in high esteem by their peers for work both inside and outside their firms.
 
The Warner Norcross partners who were honored are:

  • Charles E. Burpee is a patent attorney in the Grand Rapids office who works with clients around the world who are developing cutting-edge technology for their businesses. His experience includes helping to patent smart phone touch screen, haptic and gesture features, as well as network routing technology critical to the internet. Burpee’s expertise includes portfolio development and maintenance, technology transfer and intellectual property issues in mergers and acquisition.
  • Catherine S. Collins specializes in procuring and protecting intellectual property rights for both domestic and international clients, including intellectual property due diligence reviews for mergers and acquisitions. The Grand Rapids-based attorney primarily focuses her practice on patent and trademark prosecution for a wide range of industries, ranging from medical devices to consumers goods, including semiconductor manufacturing equipment and clean technologies. She is a former engineer, supervisor and project engineer in the nuclear engineering and construction field.
  • Gregory D. DeGrazia specializes in the protection of trade secrets and intellectual property in the United States, Europe and Asia. Practicing in the firm’s Southfield office, DeGrazia counsels clients through patent and trademark prosecution in the automotive, manufacturing, chemical,  environmental and entertainment industries. He developed his interest in patent and trademark law while working as an automotive manufacturing engineer. He also applies his expertise in intellectual property rights to mergers and acquisitions.
  • R. Scott Keller is based in the Grand Rapids office where he works on intellectual property and internet law and litigation. His practice focuses on trademarks, copyrights, domain names and unfair competition. He works with clients large and small to register and enforce their trademarks worldwide. In addition to prosecution work, Keller also litigates disputes in federal and state courts and the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He also has handled dozens of Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy, or UDRP, proceedings.
