Andrea J. Bernard, a partner with the law firm Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as one of its 2016 “Leaders in the Law.”
The award, which will be presented in a special ceremony on March 17 at the Detroit Marriott Troy, recognizes attorneys who are changing the law, expanding access to justice and improving the profession and their communities.
Her nomination read, in part: “Andrea has been a member of the firm’s Legal Practice committee for more than 10 years and oversees the firm’s loss prevention program – one of the most important aspects of firm management. She was asked to accept this important responsibility because of her astute judgment and ability to develop trust with everyone in the firm, from the Managing Partner to the file clerk. Her work protects not only our firm, but also our clients, which gives Andrea a great deal of personal satisfaction.”
Bernard focuses her practice in litigation, representing manufacturers, contractors, financial institutions and others involved in employment, commercial and construction disputes. She serves as the firm’s general counsel and is a member of its management committee. In addition to her membership with the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Bernard is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan.
Bernard has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America, Leading Lawyers in America and as Lawyer of the Year by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. She is a member of Inforum and Leadership Grand Rapids.
