Michigan Venture Capital Association’s Corporate Transparency Act Webinar

Michigan Venture Capital Association will host a webinar, “Corporate Transparency Act: Who’s Impacted and What Does it Mean,” on Wednesday, May 15 at 10:00 a.m.

Warner Norcross + Judd LLP partners Josie Boucher and Corrine Sprague will lead discussion on the CTA which took effect Jan. 1, 2024, imposing new beneficial ownership reporting requirements on an estimated 32.6 million established entities. The webinar will provide insight on CTA’s basic requirements, along with practical advice for reporting and compliance. Sprague and Boucher will also address the impact of recent litigation challenging the constitutionality of the CTA.

About the speakers:

Boucher is executive partner in Warner’s Kalamazoo office, where she leads a team of 25 attorneys and five staff. She focuses her practice on representing emerging growth companies, investment funds and individuals in venture capital and other investment transactions. She serves on the firm’s Management Committee and chairs the Funds and Investments Industry Group.

Sprague is a seasoned corporate attorney who advises both privately held and publicly traded companies on mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, corporate planning, governance and compliance with federal and state securities laws. In addition to her general corporate practice, she assists family-owned businesses in designing governance, ownership and compensation structures to align with their long-term succession planning and business objectives.
