TalentFirst, a catalyst working to ensure an ongoing supply of world-class talent for West Michigan, is pleased to present Making DEI Last: The Role of the CEO and Senior Leadership. The event promises an engaging conversation with Dr. Sandra Upton, founder and chief DEI strategist with Upton Consulting Group, as well as a panel discussion of local business leaders.

Mark Wassink, managing partner at Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been invited to participate on the panel. At Warner, Wassink has led the team to take an “all in” approach to DEI by engaging people at all levels of the firm to lead and participate on DEI committees and initiatives. This ensures a broad base of support from team members truly invested in leading the charge. He will be joined on stage by:

  • Mary Brown, senior culture consultant at Steelcase
  • Charisse Mitchell, CEO at YMCA of West Central Michigan
  • Victor Sturgis, partner at Crowe

The March 12 event will be held at the Kirkof Center beginning at 9:00 a.m. with guests enjoying a light breakfast while connecting with organization leaders and talent and diversity professionals. The first 50 guests will receive a copy of Dr. Upton’s book “Make It Last: A Roadmap and Practical Strategies for How to Do DEI.”
