The Institute for Continuing Legal Education will host its 31st annual Health Law Institute on March 12 at the Vistatech Center in Livonia. Cosponsored by the Health Care Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the event is designed to help health care industry professionals keep pace with critical changes in health law across a range of topics including artificial intelligence, antitrust changes, HIPPA law, contracting, labor and employment and more. Three Warner partners will speak at the event.
Madelaine C. Lane and Adam B. Townshend are featured speakers presenting a “Fraud and Abuse Update” to offer an inside look at recent trends and significant cases — nationally and in the Sixth Circuit — in health care fraud enforcement. This annual session tracks the latest government activities and the precautions the industry must take to protect clients.
Alan Rogalski R.Ph. is on the compliance track, participating on the panel “Mitigate Licensing, Patient Complaints and Grievances” to discuss the current licensing environment and ways for health care practitioners to establish effective communications and mitigate administrative actions.
At Warner, Lane, Rogalski and Townshend are members of the firm’s Health Care Industry Group. They focus on fraud, criminal and civil investigations, financial crimes affecting health care entities and statutory and regulatory compliance matters.
Lane is an accomplished white collar criminal defense attorney with deep experience representing corporate and individual health care providers in government investigations and litigation.
Rogalski is a former licensed clinical pharmacist with extensive experience with health care investigations and enforcement actions, corporate compliance and corporate integrity agreements, licensing and regulatory matters and health care business formations and contracts.
Before joining Warner, Townshend spent 15 years at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Michigan, where he served as a health care fraud coordinator and litigated civil and criminal health care fraud cases across a host of service lines.
