Warner Norcross + Judd LLP and The Barton Group are proud to co-host the lunch and learn event “Answering Common Questions and Discussing Issues Surrounding Construction Contracts.” Warner attorneys Rachel Foster and Alex Haywood will deliver remarks during the March 18 luncheon at The Barton Group office in Portage, MI.
During any construction project, unanticipated impacts and revisions to project scope, schedule and cost are almost inevitable. Foster and Haywood will discuss how to identify a change management situation as well as actions to be taken when a change management situation arises.
The attorneys generally recommend starting with the following four steps when encountering a change management situation:
- Review your contract.
- Notify your client.
- Analyze and follow-up with your client on actual or projected impacts.
- Understand your options and obligations under applicable construction/mechanic’s lien laws.
During the luncheon, Warner speakers will delve into the issues and more thoroughly examine best practices for meeting construction challenges head-on.
