The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs holds a spring and a fall Joint Provider Surveyor Training for nursing home staff and surveyors from the Bureau of Survey and Certification and Bureau of Community and Health Systems as mandated by the Public Health Code.
Protecting Residents’ Rights: Councils, Arbitrations and Discharges is the theme of the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Spring 2026 Conference. The event provides interpretation and clarification on existing or new regulatory requirements and expectations for nursing home staff and state surveyors.
Jeff Segal, a Warner partner and co-chair of the firm’s Health Care Industry Group, will participate on the “Arbitration in Long-Term Care” panel. Joining Segal on the panel is Lisa Rosen, Health Care Surveyor, Detroit Central Survey Team. The two plan to discuss the regulatory landscape regarding arbitration agreements with nursing home residents.
At Warner, Segal is a health care attorney specializing in guiding and advocating for diverse health care organizations, physicians and group practices across a broad spectrum of legal challenges. With expertise spanning the intricate realms of the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), the Physician Self-Referral Law (Stark Law) and HIPAA, Segal provides invaluable support to clients at every stage of their journey.
