    Parent are often surprised to hear that they no longer have legal authority to make medical and financial decisions for their children after their children turn 18. This is one of many reasons why it is important for individuals who have attained age 18 to have a basic estate plan. this plan includes a Patient Advocate Designation where you name someone to make medical decisions on your behalf if you are unable to do so.
