Attorneys for Family-Held Enterprises hosted its Fall Conference 2026 in Salt Lake City combining exceptional content, engaging speakers and meaningful connections for legal professionals serving family-held businesses.
Warner partner Corinne Curtis was invited to moderate the session "Investment Stewardship: Common Mistakes and Case Studies." In a fireside chat, the panel drew on real-world case studies to highlight surprisingly common mistakes that even the most sophisticated families make when managing their portfolios, as well as the warning signs that advisors outside the investment function are uniquely positioned to spot.
Attendees gained practical insights into identifying common pitfalls in investment management, evaluating potential solutions for their clients, and learning concrete ways trusted advisors can add meaningful value by asking better questions and partnering more effectively with investment teams.
Curtis is a seasoned corporate attorney who advises both privately held and publicly traded companies on mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, corporate planning, governance and compliance with federal and state securities laws. In addition to her general corporate practice, she assists family-owned businesses in designing governance, ownership and compensation structures to align with their long-term succession planning and business objectives.
