Amanda M. Fielder and Jonathan P. Kok to Co-chair Warner Labor and Employment Practice Group

Amanda M. Fielder and Jonathan P. Kok have been named co-chairs of the Labor and Employment Practice Group at Warner Norcross + Judd LLP.

Partners with the law firm, Fielder and Kok will co-lead the 20-member practice group that provides counsel to publicly traded and privately held companies, including those with union and non-union workforces, on compliance with ever-changing employment laws. Throughout the pandemic, the Labor and Employment Practice Group has provided regular updates on federal and state health and safety mandates, hosted informational webinars and roundtables and launched a video series to provide employers with up-to-date information and guidance. Both practice in the firm’s Grand Rapids office.

Fielder concentrates her work in all aspects of employment law and also co-chairs the Employment Litigation Practice Group. She has successfully defended employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge, as well as other statutory, contract and tort-related employment claims. Fielder regularly counsels and defends clients against cases involving consumer claims and supply chain disputes, including pricing disputes, breach of warranty claims and injunction actions.

She is recognized as a Rising Star by Michigan Super Lawyers and as an Up and Coming Lawyer and a Women in the Law honoree by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. The Grand Rapids Business Journal has recognized her as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan and as one of the 40 Under 40 business leaders. She is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Federal Bar Association and American Bar Association. Earlier this year, she was named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Active in the community, she serves as board chair of Solutions to End Exploitation and is a board member for Children’s Advocacy Center. She also is on the advisory council for Inner City Christian Federation.

Kok concentrates his practice in labor, employment and health law, assisting large public and private corporations in all industries on issues related to discrimination and harassment, unfair competition, disability and leave, as well as the design and negotiation of executive employment and compensation agreements. He also regularly handles union negotiations, arbitrations and National Labor Relations Board proceedings.

He has been named to Best Lawyers in America® every year since 2014.
