Prior to joining Warner, Emma gained valuable experience as an intern for Chief Justice Hala Y. Jarbou of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan and for Justice Elizabeth M. Welch of the Michigan Supreme Court. These opportunities provided her with an insider’s understanding of how judges evaluate arguments and evidence. Her experience gave her invaluable insights into clear case presentation, credibility before the courts and persuasive filings from the first through the last.

Emma holds her Juris Doctor&nbsp;<em>magna cum laude</em> from Michigan State University College of Law, where she attended on full academic scholarship, was ranked top 10% in her class and earned several accolades through the law school’s moot court program. She also was named to the Dean’s List for five semesters. Emma earned her Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in history and Spanish&nbsp;<em>magna cum laude</em> from Western Michigan University, Lee Honors College and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. As an honor student, Emma published a thesis on how democracy can flourish in the aftermath of authoritarianism, focusing on Spain’s modern history. &nbsp;
