I learned so much from my years clerking on the Michigan Supreme Court – including what kinds of things will either persuade or annoy a judge or their clerk. During that time, I came to view Michigan’s Constitution as a treasure of resources and a potential game-changer when faced with unfavorable federal law, and I now regularly use this perspective to my advantage.

Ashley Yuill focuses on litigation and dispute resolution and is working towards developing a robust appellate practice. In all of these areas, she draws upon her experience as a law clerk to Hon. Bridget M. McCormack of the Michigan Supreme Court. Given her background in criminal defense, Ashley has also been pulled onto white-collar defense projects and internal investigations, and has a strong interest in building her practice in these areas.

My Best Work

  • Contributed to the exoneration of Kevin Harrington by interviewing and drafting affidavits for an eyewitness to the murder and a witness who heard the actual killer confess. Mr. Harrington was released from prison in 2020 after serving 17 years for a crime he didn’t commit.
