CDV5 Properties, an investor in Michigan Sports Academies (MSA), renovated the former Woodland Skating Center and Woodland Sports Center into a sports complex for volleyball, basketball, soccer and lacrosse.
Warner&rsquo;s Real Estate Practice Group assisted with the negotiation and acquisition of the real property and with the negotiation and termination of the existing tenant&rsquo;s lease. In addition, we facilitated discussions with the City of Grand Rapids regarding the redevelopment of the site and design constraints associated with the local zoning ordinances. &nbsp; Our Construction Industry Group structured the design and construction contracts for the overall expansion and renovation of the project. We interfaced with city representatives to confirm permitting for the design. &nbsp; Warner&rsquo;s Business and Corporate Services Practice Group formed an appropriate entity to hold the new facility consistent with the owner&rsquo;s business and tax objectives and prepared the related organizational and governance documents.
