In this newest video for Warner’s Emerging Media and Technologies Industry Update, Partner Brian Wassom highlights one aspect of Apple’s new spatial computer, the Vision Pro, that allows people to create an AI-generated avatar or “persona.” This persona can be created through a face-worn device and although the tech is amazing, it’s still inaccurate enough to fall into the “uncanny valley” category. Nevertheless, because it’s an Apple device, people will use it. As these personas become commonplace, people may begin to drop their guard against other AI-generated avatars from nefarious actors, making it easier for AI deepfakes to scam people.
