Warner Norcross + Judd LLP has welcomed Paul T. Engel as senior counsel.
Engel concentrates his practice in intellectual property law with a focus on patents, trademarks and opinion work. He is based in the firm’s Detroit office.
Prior to joining Warner, Engel spent more than 10 years as an attorney with Howard & Howard in Royal Oak, where he specialized in intellectual property portfolio management and development, both domestically and internationally, in the automotive, construction, chemical, energy, medical, software and manufacturing industries. Prior to his legal career, Engel accrued commercial and technical experience at National Starch and Chemical, Sika Corporation and Lear Corporation.
Engel is active professionally with the American Chemical Society and Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association. He has been named a Michigan Super Lawyer Magazine “Rising Star” on five occasions.
Engel received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Michigan State University and his master’s degree in economics and chemistry from University of Detroit Mercy. He earned his law degree cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He is licensed to practice in Michigan and registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Engel currently resides in Rochester with his wife, Jennifer, and two daughters.
