Warner Norcross + Judd LLP has welcomed Conor J. Boland as an associate in its Grand Rapids office.
Boland is a business law attorney who concentrates his practice on counseling family offices, including their portfolio companies and related funds, closely held companies and family-owned businesses on all types of business transactions, including joint ventures, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions and general commercial transactions. He works to provide practical, business-focused legal advice that helps businesses achieve their goals.
Boland also concentrates his practice on counseling a broad range of clients, ranging from publicly held companies to startups, on corporate governance matters. This includes advising boards, independent committees, controlling shareholders, minority shareholders and officers on fiduciary duties, minority oppression claims, shareholders’ agreements and other complex governance issues.
Prior to Warner, Boland served as a summer associate and corporate attorney at Varnum, LLP where he counseled clients on commercial transactions, corporate governance matters and other business law issues. He worked in-house for a family office, contributed to a significant regulatory initiative, counseled cross-functional teams and provided day-to-day legal support.
Earlier in his career, Boland served as a judicial extern to Vice Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery.
Boland serves on the board of directors for St. Robert Catholic School and Young Catholic Professionals Grand Rapids Chapter. He previously served as a “Up Next” cohort member with Trinity Health. Boland is also a member of the Notre Dame Club of Grand Rapids, the Catholic Lawyers Association of Western Michigan and the Family Business Alliance.
Boland earned a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in history from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and a law degree magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he served as managing notes editor of the Journal of Legislation.
A native of Wilmington, Delaware, Boland resides in Ada with his wife Tiffany, two children and their dog.
