Brian P. Lennon, a partner of the Grand Rapids office of Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been elected president of the West Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
Previously treasurer of the association, Lennon’s one-year presidential term began in October and will run through September 2020. The association is a professional organization for private and government lawyers who practice in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Its goal is to improve the practice of law in federal courts and foster a positive and collegial relationship among the attorneys and judges who practice law and dispense justice in this district.
A former federal prosecutor in Michigan and Virginia and former trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Division, Lennon concentrates his practice at Warner in criminal defense, particularly healthcare fraud, white color crime, drug offenses, corporate internal investigations and compliance matters. Lennon also spent more than four years as a judge advocate for the U.S. Marine Corps, handling both civil and criminal matters.
Lennon has recently been named a 2019 Super Lawyer by Michigan Super Lawyers and has received the Executive Office for United States Attorneys Director's Award for Superior Performance as Criminal Prosecutor as well as the National Association of Former U.S. Attorney's Award for Exceptional Services.
Active professionally and in the community, Lennon serves on the American Health Lawyers Association and on the board of Michigan Colleges Alliance. Additionally, he is a board member for the Grace Episcopal Church and West Michigan Aviation Academy and a former co-coordinator of volunteers for the Grand Rapids Ballet.
