Warner Norcross & Judd LLP has been honored by the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region for the inaugural campaign at its Kalamazoo office.
Warner was presented with the organization’s Rookie of the Year Award during a celebration at the Gull Lake Country Club that drew more than 250 United Way supporters and agency partners. The award recognizes a company for exceptional results in conducting a first-ever campaign.
The law firm, which opened its Kalamazoo office last May, raised $10,000 for the 2014 United Way campaign. The campaign collected a total of nearly $14.2 million to address specific needs in education, income and health, among others.
“We are incredibly proud of our fundraising efforts in our first year,” said John N. Cooper II, executive partner of Warner’s Kalamazoo office. “We are committed to making 2015 another award-winning year and, more importantly, to strengthening our community and helping our fellow citizens who are most in need.”
Other major award winners included the W.K. Kellogg Community Foundation, which received the Live United Award for embodying the spirit of LIVE UNITED – Give, Advocate and Volunteer. Additionally, Duncan Aviation was recognized with the Heritage Award for having a long, rich history of active involvement with United Way, including financial support and volunteerism.
