Warner Partner Elected Treasurer of State Bar Probate Section

David L.J.M. Skidmore, a partner at the law firm Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, has been elected treasurer of the Probate & Estate Planning Section of the Michigan State Bar.

Skidmore will serve a one-year term as treasurer of the section, which works to enhance and improve the practice and administration of law pertaining to probate, trust and estate planning, guardianships and conservatorships and tax planning, among other areas.

Skidmore is a litigator who concentrates his practice on probate, trust, estate, fiduciary and real property disputes. He utilizes creative and strategic thinking to forge lasting solutions to complex and emotional probate disputes.

Active professionally and in the community, Skidmore is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Michigan Super Lawyers.

He serves as a case evaluator and mediator for the Kent County Circuit Court. Skidmore is a member of the American Bar Association and Grand Rapids Bar Association.

Skidmore serves on the board of Broadway Grand Rapids. A graduate of Leadership Grand Rapids, he has volunteered his time and leadership skills with groups such as Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, Widowed Persons Service, Hillman Advocacy Program, Michigan Bankers Association and Grand Rapids Public Schools.
