Warner Offers Half-Day Data Solutions Symposium in Southfield

Managing data and staying attuned to the latest changes in information governance is becoming more complex by the day. Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, one of Michigan’s most experienced law firms in the data solutions arena, will share the firm’s expertise with local business leaders, in-house counsel and IT decision makers at a half-day conference in Southfield on June 24.

The Data Solutions Symposium, which will be held at the Westin Southfield Hotel, will focus on the key issues in eDiscovery, privacy/security and information governance and will provide participants with the latest information on the regulations shaping the industry. The complimentary conference will discuss how to combat the rapid growth of big data and the constant threat of security breaches with cost-effective and comprehensive data management strategies that protect the company’s reputation and bottom line.

The symposium will focus on the following topics:

  • Data security, privacy and eDiscovery legal update
  • Reducing litigation costs and data privacy/security risks
  • Implications of a data breach and how to be protected
  • Reducing data storage costs while mitigating legal risk
  • Litigation software to reduce costs and time associated with legal holds and data review

“One in 11 business owners have lost money to an IT security breach,” said B. Jay Yelton, a partner at Warner Norcross and co-chair of the firm’s Data Solutions Practice Group. “With an average cost of $201 per stolen record containing confidential information, understanding how to manage and protect data has become a critical corporate responsibility.

“We have designed this conference to both address the issues and also provide actionable items that will help companies develop and implement defensible management plans,” Yelton added.  “The same symposium was offered earlier this year and attendees universally agreed that it was a half day well spent.”

Warner Norcross, which has offices in Southfield and Macomb County, will co-host the symposium with the Association of Corporate Counsel Michigan, beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m. at the Westin Southfield, 1500 Town Center, Southfield.  Pre-registration is required.
