Warner Holds Annual HR Seminar on Labor, Employee Benefits Issues

Warner Norcross + Judd LLP will again offer its popular HR Seminar on benefits and labor issues on April 30.

The HR Seminar will provide an update on new laws, policies, litigation and trends shaping the regulatory landscape that governs how HR professionals manage labor and employee benefit issues. Fifteen attorneys from across the state will present sessions on hot topics for HR professionals on Thursday, April 30 at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park.

The seminar is divided into half-day blocks with general overviews followed by breakout sessions that allow time for questions and answers. The morning session will focus on employee benefits while the afternoon session will focus on labor law. The seminar also includes a networking lunch.

Breakout sessions will cover:

  • Employee benefits litigation and emerging compliance issues.
  • Retirement plans and risk management.
  • Compliance Court, which will feature real-world compliance scenarios.
  • Immigration and employer obligations.
  • Protected speech in today’s workplace.
  • Workplace accommodations, including the ADA, Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and Title VII.
  • Earned Sick Time Act and other wage-and-hour laws.
