Warner Client GeekMyTree Featured on Shark Tank

Brad Boyink invented a holiday tree lighting system called GeekMyTree in 2014.  His invention was inspired by a beloved Christmas tradition - hosting for many years the second largest neighborhood Christmas light display in the nation. Building upon his expertise in these large production light shows, GeekMyTree brings the light display technology to individual trees; it offers a simple, hassle-free way to hang lights in minutes to provide pre-programmed lighting effects all under the control of a smartphone application.

How We Helped

Warner Norcross & Judd conducted research to confirm the GeekMyTree product design and name are unique – and worked with Brad to file the appropriate patent and trademark applications to protect his investment. Brad needed a solid team of Technology and Intellectual Property attorneys behind him to make his business ideas a reality. Janet Knaus and Chuck Burpee helped Brad establish the appropriate patents, trademarks and technology contracts to take GeekMyTree to the marketplace.
