The Midwest Trust & Wealth Management Conference brings together trust officers, wealth advisors, estate planning professionals, investment managers and financial leaders from across the Midwest for three days of education, networking, and innovative ideas that are shaping the future of fiduciary services.

Warner attorneys Juliette Peterson and Erin Poston are co-presenting two of the day's discussions. During the morning session, they'll present "Directed Trusts and Divided Fiduciary Roles," exploring how Michigan law allocates liability when investment, distribution and administrative duties are split among multiple fiduciaries, including what trust officers need to know to navigate these arrangements.

Later in the day, they'll present "Decanting and Trust Modification: Opportunities and Hidden Concerns," a practical look at Michigan's decanting and modification statutes, including real-world examples of when these tools solved problems and when they sparked litigation.

At Warner, Peterson concentrates her legal practice on trusts and estates, assisting individuals, couples and families with crafting tailored trust agreements, wills, durable powers of attorney and patient advocate documents.

Poston is a trusts and estates attorney who focuses on planning for individuals, families, family businesses and family offices. She leverages her deep tax and transactional experience to complement her estate planning practice.

The Midwest Trust & Wealth Management Conference begins Oct. 14 with a golf outing and welcome mixer. Peterson and Poston will present on Oct. 15, when the event’s educational sessions begin. Learn more about the event here.
