USCIS to Provide Training on E-Verify and Form I-9 Completion

The United States Citizenship & Immigration Services' (USCIS) Public Engagement Division (PED) is making a concerted effort to educate human resource professionals and executives on E-Verify and the I-9 Form. USCIS has scheduled more than 15 E-Verify and I-9 training webinars for the month of November.

Registration is open to employers and employees, and it’s simple to sign up: Use this link to the USCIS webinar page, scroll down the page to the heading “For Employers,” or “For Employees,” and click the drop down for the desired topic. After clicking the drop down arrow, select your desired webinar date.

USCIS 2016 Fee Updates
On October 24, 2016, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced a final rule publication in the Federal Register. The final rule increases the required fees by a weighted average of 21 percent for most immigration applications and petitions.  The new rule also removes regulatory provisions that prevent USCIS from rejecting immigration or naturalization benefit requests paid with a dishonored check or lacking the required biometric services fee. Under the final rule, the remitter is provided an opportunity to correct the deficient payment. The new fees become effective on December 23, 2016.

USCIS receives the majority of its funding through fees associated with applications and petitions for immigration benefits, thus, it regularly updates its fees. The current and updated fees, effective December 23, are as follows:
