Two Warner Partners Author Chapters of Michigan Probate Litigation

Two partners of the law firm Warner Norcross & Judd LLP have authored chapters of the third edition of Michigan Probate Litigation.

David L.J.M. Skidmore serves as one of two co-editors of the publication, which covers all aspects of probate litigation from procedural issues to substantive challenges to specific documents. Produced by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the 482-page volume is now available for purchase here.

Additionally, Skidmore wrote the chapter on “Practice and Procedure in Probate Litigation,” which covers procedures in Probate Court from start to finish.

Laura E. Morris authored the chapter “Litigating Mental Capacity,” which walks practictioners through the nuisances of litigating claims over whether an individual had sufficient mental capacity to execute a legal document.

Skidmore and Morris concentrate their practices on trust, estate and fiduciary disputes and litigation. Both are also trained civil mediators.

Skidmore chairs the Amicus Curiae Committee of the State Bar of Michigan's Probate and Estate Planning Section Council. A Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, Skidmore is listed in Best Lawyers in America and Michigan Super Lawyers. He is a frequent speaker on Michigan trust and estate law, and writes a regular column on probate disputes for the "Michigan Probate and Estate Planning Journal."

Morris has been named a Rising Star by Michigan Super Lawyers every year since 2013 and was recognized by Best Lawyers in America this year. She also speaks and writes regularly on probate and estate topics.
