The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law is hosting a special institute “Siting Renewable Energy Projects and Transmission Infrastructure.” Designed for developers, attorneys, regulators, energy providers and other industry stakeholders, the institute offers valuable insights into critical aspects of project planning, from securing site control and conducting due diligence to navigating the intricacies of complex permitting processes and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regulations.

Warner Norcross + Judd Partner Daniel Ettinger will present “Strategies for Successfully Navigating Local Stakeholder Engagement and Hearings,” offering practical guidance on managing and communicating project impacts to communities, residents and other key stakeholders. Ettinger will share insights, proven strategies and best practices for identifying stakeholders and building local support for renewable energy projects. The presentation will focus on common concerns such as noise, wildlife and habitat impacts, fire risk and visual effects.

Ettinger is chair of Warner’s Resources, Energy and Environmental Law Practice Group and serves as a trustee to The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law. He focuses his law practice in the areas of mining, renewable/alternative energy, oil and gas and other natural resource development. He represents local, national and international clients in environmental litigation and appeals, zoning and administrative law, and permitting and compliance matters.
