Opportunity for Exporters and Businesses to Shape USCMA’s Future

The U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) is up for review on July 1, 2026. As that time approaches, exporters and businesses have the opportunity to shape USCMA's future by submitting their comments to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR).

This process offers exporters, businesses and interested parties the "only official opportunity" to influence U.S. priorities and impact the upcoming USMCA negotiations. These comments witll also provide feedback on the USTR's recommendations to Congress.

The USMCA replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 2020. Statistically speaking, USMCA supports $1.8 trillion in annual North American trade and millions of jobs in key industries across the U.S. This data underscores the significant impact of the USMCA to the economies of the three countries.

Comments can be submitted via the USTR Comments Portal. The deadline is Nov. 3, at 11:59 p.m. EST. To find the proper comments page, enter USTR-2025-0004 in the search bar "Search Public Dockets" and follow the prompts. Businesses, exporters and interested parties also have an opportunity to submit requests to testify via the same process.

Public hearings will be held on Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. EST at the U.S. International Trade Commission, in Washington, D.C.
