Warner's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager, Mandice McAllister, recently authored a helpful article for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education titled "Recruiting a Diverse Summer Associate Class."
In the article, McAllister outlines nine actionable and comprehensive steps that law firms can adopt to build a consistent, inclusive and diversity-focused summer associate recruitment program. These strategies aim to not only attract a more diverse pool of candidates but also foster an environment that supports and retains talent from various backgrounds. The article serves as a valuable resource for firms committed to advancing diversity within the legal profession.
McAllister provides strategic leadership for Warner’s internal and external DEI-related programs and processes, including the firm’s DEI Action Committee. She serves as co-chair of Mosaic, an employee resource group for Black, Indigenous and people of color. McAllister is a member of the 2023 class of 40 Under 40 from Crain’s Grand Rapids Business. She currently serves on the National Black MBA Association for the Greater Michigan Chapter and on Comprehensive Therapy Center’s board of directors. In 2021, McAllister was a finalist for DEI Champion of the Year at the EPIC Awards for the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce.
