David L.J.M. Skidmore, a partner with Warner Norcross & Judd and chairman of the firm’s Probate Litigation Practice, has completed requirements to become an approved general civil mediator.
To become an approved civil mediator, Skidmore participated in 40 hours of hands-on instruction featuring mock mediations, case scenarios and demonstrations. The General Civil Mediation training program has been approved by the State Court Administrative Office. It has been named winner of an Association of Continuing Legal Education Administrators Best Award for a continuing legal education program.
Skidmore’s practice is centered on probate litigation, personal injury claims and real property disputes. He is a member of the governing council for the Probate & Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan and is the chair of the council’s amicus committee. He is a regular speaker at seminars on topics related to trust and estate law, and presents annual trust and estate case law updates to the Michigan Bankers Association, the West Michigan Estate Planning Council and other groups.
He is a regular contributor to the State Bar of Michigan’s Probate and Estate Planning Journal, Michigan Real Property Review and the American Bar Association’s Probate and Property. Skidmore also has authored a legal treatise on the Michigan law of wills.
Skidmore is a Michigan Super Lawyer, was named to Best Lawyers in America, Litigation-Trusts & Estates, 2015, and is AV Preeminent Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
