Warner Norcross + Judd LLP attorney Danelle Harrington will present on “Farm Succession and Farmland Issues” during the Estate Planning Council of Grand Traverse Area’s spring program in Traverse City. The program will examine key considerations and challenges in supporting clients with farmland and other real estate-related assets.

Topics will include farm succession planning, as well as strategies for distributing and equalizing assets among farm and non-farm children. The program will also address the sale and purchase of development rights and agricultural land use issues, including solar agreements, agritourism and ancillary uses.

Harrington is a partner and estate planning attorney at Warner who focuses her practice on trusts and estates, assisting individuals, families and businesses with estate planning, probate and trust administration. She also counsels clients on succession planning and real estate matters involving farmland, including drafting and reviewing solar and other alternative energy agreements.

Having grown up on her family’s farm, Harrington brings a practical understanding of her clients’ connection to their land and the importance of protecting those assets.
