Could Your Mining Operation Benefit From the Proposed Sand and Gravel Mining Law?

This is the question sand and gravel mining operations should be asking as Senate Bills 429 and 431 undergo review in Michigan's House of Representatives. If these bills become law, all sand and gravel mines currently in operation will have the option to pursue a permit from the Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, and if they obtain it, they will no longer have to comply with local government restrictions on their site. The off-season would be a good time to start thinking about making a change and what that change would look like.

Warner has been at the tip of the spear for decades when it comes to mining law and played a key role in the development of this legislation.
