CMS Vaccine Mandate Lawsuits Create Further Uncertainty for Employers

In today’s Law Shanty video, Steve Palazzolo updates us on litigation regarding the vaccine mandate from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) brought by 14 states. These states have sued the CMS in the United States District Court in the state of Louisiana, seeking a preliminary injunction against the implementation of the CMS vaccine mandate. For now, the district court has issued a preliminary injunction covering all but 10 states and those 10 states are already covered by a case brought earlier in the federal district court in Missouri. Steve discusses what this ruling means for employers and provides updates to the ETS and Federal Contractor Vaccine Mandate and what employers should be thinking about now.
