Warner successfully represented Monsanto Company in a case alleging product defects in the AstroTurf installation at the Pontiac Silverdome.
The case was filed by a national soccer player who has suffered a career-ending injury during a game. He claimed that product defects in the AstroTurf installation at the Silverdome had caused a the injury. He was able to create a lot of buzz for the case and there was considerable discussion about the AstroTurf product and its effect on sports injuries at the time.
Warner's questioning of the referee showed that the player's injury was not related to the turf but was instead caused when the player made an illegal slide tackle from behind.
Warner obtained a jury verdict for Monsanto in this case, Stahl v. Monsanto Company.
