Creating a Company-wide Document Management Policy

Warner helps clients create document management policies with a focus on the unique aspects of their businesses. 

Our work includes drafting a document management policy, taking inventory of your records and creating a schedule for retaining and destroying documents, including electronic versions.

We work with our client's legal and IT teams to create a data map and IT system inventory that determines:

  • what documents exist.
  • where they are.
  • what should be preserved and for how long based on operational and legal requirements.
  • what may be destroyed immediately and who will be responsible for collecting this information.

Then we create policies to guide the document management process, including creating a litigation hold when necessary.
