Aging Well Conference

Location: Cultural Center at St. Nicholas, 2250 East Paris Ave., Grand Rapids, MI

The topic this year is "Aging Well: Senior Safety." Topics discussed will include identity theft, elder abuse, and in-home safety.

Speakers are Suzy Khoury, Senior Brigade & Cyber Safety, Department of Attorney General, with "Scams, Swindles and Fraud Identity Theft;" Phil Catlett, president and CEO of the Better Business Bureau of West Michigan, with "How to Investigate a Charity before you Donate;" and Deputy Ryan Roe, Kent County Sheriff's Department, with "Remodeling, Building & Construction Scams."

Also speaking will be Laura Morris, partner at Warner Norcross & Judd Attorneys at Law, with "Financial Elder Abuse;" Kim Van Dam and Lianna Reatin, certified occupational therapy assistants Easter Seal of Michigan, with "Safety at Home;" and Nancy Kropiewnicki, coordinator of the Kent County Elder Abuse Coalition Area Agency on Aging Western Michigan, on "Elder Abuse."
