Michigan Manufacturers Association Appoints Kurt Brauer to Chair Environmental Policy Committee

Kurt M. Brauer, a partner with the law firm Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been appointed chair of the Michigan Manufacturers Association's Environmental Policy Committee.

Established in 1902, MMA is a leading advocate focused solely on securing a prosperous future for Michigan manufacturers through effective advocacy, meaningful education and strategic business services. MMA represents the interests of more than 2,000 businesses, ranging from small manufacturers to many of the world's biggest and best known companies.

At Warner, Brauer counsels clients in environmental compliance, economic development and regulatory matters with an emphasis on redeveloping brownfield properties and securing business expansion incentive packages. He has represented clients in all manner of environmental issues, including regulatory compliance, site investigation, cleanup and closure, solid and hazardous waste, due diligence, permitting, wetland and critical habitat protection. Brauer also chairs the firm's Agribusiness and Food Industry Group.

In addition to his role at MMA, Brauer currently serves as president of the Michigan Wetlands Association, as a director of the Great Lakes Ag-Tech Business Incubator, secretary for the board of the Farmington Hills Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and is a recent past chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s Environmental Law Section Council.

Brauer is consistently recognized in Best Lawyers in America, Michigan Super Lawyers and as a DBusiness Top Lawyer.
