Mark J. Wassink has been reelected managing partner of Warner Norcross + Judd LLP.
Wassink will serve a second two-year term leading one of Michigan’s largest law firms. In this role, he will continue to chair Warner’s management committee and guide the firm’s strategic direction and growth. Warner has 230 attorneys practicing in offices in Bloomfield Hills, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Holland, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Macomb County, Midland and Muskegon.
“I am grateful and honored to serve as managing partner of Warner for a second term and incredibly proud to lead a team who strives every day to be the best law firm in Michigan,” Wassink said. “We do this by providing exceptional legal counsel, delivering stellar client service, offering an inclusive culture and maintaining a deep commitment to our communities.
“We build strong relationships with our clients through a firm structure that encourages collaboration, ensuring the right attorney with the best experience can address any client’s needs. For our attorneys and staff, we are intentional about being an inclusive place for everyone, making sure this flows through to everything we do both inside and outside the firm. This has resulted in a strong track-record of hiring summer associates and lateral attorneys who become our fiercest advocates and maintaining an excellent reputation as a trusted community partner.”
A partner in Warner’s Grand Rapids office, Wassink concentrates his practice on business, commercial finance and related legal areas. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America®, which named him the 2023 Grand Rapids Corporate Lawyer of the Year, and Leading Lawyers. He has been selected to the Crain’s Grand Rapids Business Grand Rapids 200 list two years in a row.
In his second term as managing partner, Wassink will focus on two key initiatives: growth, so the firm can help clients navigate a myriad of current and emerging legal issues, and remaining best in class in client service and as an employer of choice.
Wassink has previously served in many roles at Warner, including chair of the Recruiting Committee and Professional Staff Committee. He currently serves on the leadership team of Warner’s DEI Action Committee.
Wassink serves on the board of The Right Place, Inc. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Michigan Bar Association and Grand Rapids Bar Association.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree magna cum laude from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
Wassink lives in East Grand Rapids with his wife, Wendy. They have two sons.
